Every agent starts from zero.
Search, change-order validation, meeting prep, dictation — each agent we ship re-reads the project from scratch on every query. Each pays the full cost of reconstructing understanding, each re-fights the same duplicates and contradictions, and none of them share what they learn. The insight surfaced during a Nachtragsprüfung evaporates the moment the response renders.

The data is messy, contradictory, and bi-temporal.
A decade of emails, drawings, RFIs, minutes and change orders — the same entity under five names, facts that were true in March and false in June, commitments buried three replies deep. Entity resolution, provenance on every claim, and knowing when something was true versus when it was recorded is the actual work. Vector search alone doesn't touch it.

Nothing compounds.
Every project team relearns the same lessons. Every agent forgets what the last one figured out. Knowledge leaves with people, gets buried in PDFs, or never gets written down. Without a substrate that captures and organises what actually happened — episodic, semantic, procedural — there is no memory to build on, and no moat that frontier models can't erase overnight.
